BACK TO HOME
On March 21, 1989, the Lord revealed Himself to Pastor Chris and he
turned his life to Christ. That fateful evening, he had been handed a little
booklet written by the late Gordon Lindsay, founder of Christ for the Nations
bible college in Texas, titled "Life after Death," (29 pages long).
Pastor Chris said as he read through the pages of this book, about half
way into it, he began hearing voices -- "if you die this night you will go to
hell." The conviction of a life in hell was so strong, he could not resist the
appeal to surrender to Christ . After he finished reading the book he went
straight on his kneels and prayed the sinner's prayer inviting Christ into his
life.
A veteran journalist, he received the call into ministry in 1991. But the
passion for full time ministry was never there until he came across the book
"The Challenge of Missions" by the late renowned missionary pastor,
Oswald J. Smith. Reading through this book, Pastor Chris found himself
weeping on the bed filled with a burning desire and urgency to go for the
cause of the gospel. But this was never to happen until God would use a
circumstance to move him into it in 1994. He's married to Philomena and
they both have a daughter - Faith.
